Therapeutic massage has been used for centuries to improve overall health, reduce stress, and relieve muscle tension. Research shows prenatal massage therapy can help reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health. Prenatal massage therapy addresses different needs through varying techniques, such as Swedish Massage. Swedish Massage aims to relax muscle tension and improve lymphatic and blood circulation through mild pressure applied to the muscle groups of the body. Swedish Massage is the recommended massage method during pregnancy because it addresses many common discomforts associated with the skeletal and circulatory changes brought on by hormone shifts.
What Prenatal Massage Can Address
Nausea and/or vomiting, back/hip pain, muscle tension, muscle cramps, sciatica, swelling, broad/round ligament pain, fatigue, stress, trouble sleeping, depression/anxiety, & so much more!
What to expect
I like to allow extra time before your first prenatal massage to discuss your health, concerns or fears, birth plan/preparation, postpartum needs, and share additional resources.
When to receive pregnancy massage
A healthy expecting mother can receive prenatal massage throughout her entire pregnancy. I recommend that you receive a prenatal massage every 3-4 weeks throughout your first and second trimester and then every 1-2 weeks in the last few months to help your body adjust and prepare for childbirth.
Positioning during massage
Proper pillows and cushions are used during this session to ensure comfort for both mother and baby. You may find that with each session, your positioning will be different based on how to support your growing belly.

A happy mama is a happy baby!
There are many significant goals and benefits of postnatal massage. Some of those many benefits include:
-
improved sleep
-
improves sore arms, wrists, shoulders from breastfeeding
-
addresses the tissue around Cesarean scaring
-
rapid reduction in swelling
-
better feeding of baby
-
alleviated symptoms of anxiety and postpartum depression
-
supports healthy lactation
-
helps to restore the uterus to its original state
-
relieves cramping
-
increases blood circulation and stimulates the lymph system
-
offers a natural way to soothe and nurture mothers as they adjust to shifting hormones and motherhood
-
and overall relief of pain
Because of the chronic strain placed upon physical tissues over a nine-month span, a postnatal massage may seem like a typical injury recovery session. Abdominal massage techniques are used to encourage abdominal healing.
When to receive postpartum massage
For mothers who delivered vaginally with no complications, you are able to receive postpartum massage as soon as you deliver your baby, with your own comfort level. Most women receive a postpartum massage within the first 3-6 weeks. It is best to wait six weeks to receive a regular postpartum massage after a cesarean birth. I recommend that you receive a postpartum massage every 1-3 weeks for the first 12 weeks after delivery to aid in postpartum recovery and leave you with a sense of wellbeing.
I don't have anyone to watch my baby, can my baby come to my appointment?
Absolutely! I encourage you to bring baby in the first 1-3 months after birth to promote bonding and relaxation for both mom and baby. During your session, we can also go over some infant massage techniques you can use at home.
What to expect from a postpartum session
During your first postpartum massage session, I like to spend extra time discussing your birth story and to find out how you are healing and adjusting to caring for your newborn. Based on that discussion, I create a unique postpartum massage session to address your specific needs and offer resources that may be needed. Some of the massage therapy used may include heat, specific reflexology points, aromatherapy, and abdominal massage.
Postpartum massage positioning
You can lie on your belly again! However, some women may still find it difficult to lay face down on a massage table due to the increased size of their breasts. In this case, I provide extra support cushioning under your chest to allow you to lay face down and be comfortable to receive your postnatal massage. Side-laying is also an option with pillows, which is also great for those healing from a cesarean birth.
I recommend that you breastfeed or pump right before your massage to enhance your comfort and relaxation during your session. If your newborn is fussy or would like to nurse while you are on the massage table, I can continue the massage in a side-lying position, allowing you to nurse/comfort your child.

$55.00 | 30 min *Cupping Only Appointments
Available as an add-on for Therapeutic Massage & Postnatal Massage for additional charge.
Cupping therapy uses suction to gently pull the skin and superficial muscle layers upward, rather than applying pressure. This loosens muscles and fascia, encourages blood flow, relieves pain, and sedates the nervous system.
Some benefits of cupping include:
-
Effective and faster pain relief: Cupping can provide pain relief for irritating conditions like headaches, migraines, and other forms of muscle pain.
-
Reduces the chances of experiencing chronic fatigue: Cupping therapy offers the required physical and mental rejuvenation that keeps chronic fatigue at bay.
-
Effective for healthy skin: Cupping can improve blood flow and the supply of oxygen and essential nutrients needed for healthy skin. Treatment helps create new blood vessels necessary for facilitating blood flow and removing toxins from your skin.
-
Enhanced mobility & range of motion (ROM): Cupping is used to help draw tension out of muscles and increase blood flow, thereby allowing for more flexibility and mobility in the joints.

Available as an add-on for Therapeutic Massage & Postnatal Massage for additional charge.
Hot Stones & Cold Stones
Hot stones added to your appointment are an amazing way to level up your bodywork session! The practitioner may place stones on problem areas or as a form of relaxation through the sheets to prevent burning. Throughout the session, stones are moved around to promote a deep tissue massage.
Benefits of a traditional hot stone massage include:
-
Relieves pain and relaxes your muscles
-
Reduces stress and anxiety
-
Flushes waste out of your system
-
Improves sleep
Adding cold stones to a hot stone massage can promote circulation, reduce inflamed swelling, decrease muscle spasms, and acts as a powerful decongestant for the body. Some benefits includes boosting circulation, relieve migraines, soothe sinusitis, ease menstrual symptoms, improve skin, and rejuvenating feeling throughout the body. The practitioner will rotate between hot and cold stones throughout the session.
Himalayan Salt Stones
Himalayan salt is a uniquely pink in color and packed with 84 naturally occurring minerals and elements. Many of these minerals provide the body with health and healing benefits. During a Himalayan salt stone massage, pink salt stones are heated to allow the minerals to absorb into the body, maximizing the salt's many benefits.
Some of the benefits include:
-
Exfoliates and nourishes the skin gently, leaving you soft and smooth.
-
Reduces inflammation and relieves pain such as muscle weakness, headaches, joint pain and fatigue.
-
Generates negative ions, which are shown to help create a sense of peace and deep relaxation.
-
Restores equilibrium by balancing the body's central nervous system, leaving your body and mind energized and centered.
-
Promotes deep sleep and helps to reduce insomnia.
The benefit of bodywork with combined added benefits of the Himalayan Salt Stones creates a deep sense of relaxation and well-being noticeable for weeks following the treatment.
